The schedule calls for a day of considering something depressing.
That was a terrible idea. I hate sadness. Until I can figure out what to do for Tuesdays, this will be a misc/links day. Perhaps I will use Monday for links that have longer points attached and Tuesday will get "instapundit" style links. Anyway--

- This was the depressing article for the week. Too depressing. Still an important thing to read, though.
- The terrorists win. Or, in this case, the villainy of westboro baptist reduces my liberty. An interesting Sunday post (I have started a list of ideas) is what, exactly we owe the dead in terms of respect and other obligations. For now, remember that America is not free of villains in uniform.
- Don Bordeaux is my go to source for anti-mercantilism. He hits another home run with this post.
- Remember kids, drugs are bad. They can steal your life away from you. Not the drugs themselves, of course, but the war declared by the American Government against its non-violent citizens.
- We give the government absolute power over huge chunks of our lives, and are then surprised when they take advantage of that power. Money quote: "He took the ring off my finger and put it on his finger and told me how did it look?" The man was never charged with a crime.
What do we think? Should/could there be two legislation days? Perhaps a TX leg day? Will consider the matter this weekend.
Just realized. All these posts feature depressing things. My apologies. Here is a picture of space:
